During this hour, we’ll hear Bing Satellites Alive In Lincoln, which Brin recorded in July 2019 as part of the Weird Garden concert series at No. In the second hour, we’ll focus on the live music of that immensely talented artist Brin Coleman. This concert is one of his best performances, so I encourage you to check it out. This is an artist who pushes the boundaries of ambient and electronic music, who creates some of the most satisfying and intellectually challenging abstract music you have ever heard. If you haven’t heard David Herpich’s music before, you need to hear this live set. We’ll begin with Emerald Adrift and his astonishing concert given at one of ’s Kansas City festivals, entitled Wings of Morpheus. Tonight I’ll be focusing on live music! Although I will not myself be performing tonight, I’ll be playing nothing but live music from RadioSpiral artists - specifically two wonderful concerts put on by two of my favorite artists. Please join me this evening for another edition of Blue Water Drift Dive on. One of my favorite albums ever - and a beautiful way to close out the show and send us into the work week well centered and prepared.Īnd, of course, I’ll be opening the program with a live set, this time dedicated to the crisp and pristine air up there at Monarch Pass. We’ll open with a block of mountain-themed pieces from such artists as Kevin Spears, Ombient, The Lovely Moon, Chris Zabriskie, Tony Gerber, and Altus, traveling mostly in the high plains of light ambient music, but with a few delicious side roads thrown in for good measure.Īnd in the second hour, I’ll be bringing you that masterpiece of mountain music by none other than ambient explorer Thom Brennan: his 1987 masterpiece simply entitled Mountains. As such, every track in tonight’s show has some special reference to the mountains in its title, the album it is on, or in the theme of the music. It is “Mountain Night” tonight on Blue Water Drift Dive on ! After a lovely road trip through Colorado and Wyoming last week - the reason there was no show last weekend - I think it’s appropriate to have a show focused on the music of the mountains. If you tune in, I hope you’ll stop by and say hello … As with all programs, the emphasis is on community, so of course there is a live chat. The show happens tonight at 10p/9p/8p/7p ET/CT/MT/PT (2a UTC), immediately following the end of Tony Gerber’s fantastic Ambient Sundays program, and will last at least 2 hours. And I’ll be opening the program with a live set, as always. So tonight, in both hours, I’ll be presenting several selected cuts from Spheric Lounge‘s vast catalog. Just the kind of music we like here on Blue Water Drift Dive. The music spans a great deal of sonic territory but always has a strong element of community and improvisation.

If you’re not familiar, Spheric Lounge is a multi-person live ambient music project, an open circle of musicians who meet periodically in Munich Germany to create ambient music and collaborate on sound artistry. But I am feeling ornery, so tonight we will instead be focusing on the delightful live collaborate music of Spheric Lounge! With Halloween only 6 days away, one might think tonight would be a great night for some spooky dark ambience - and one might be right.
